Crafted by French biochemist and engineer Sophie Decobecq in the highlands of San Jose de Gracia, Jalisco, Calle 23 Reposado is a masterclass in agave-forward tequila rested for 8 months in American Bourbon barrels. The result is a beautifully layered reposado that lets the agave shine while inviting just enough oak to round out every sip.
Produced under NOM 1545, this Highland Jalisco tequila reflects Sophie Decobecq's two decades of deep passion for agave and her scientific precision in distillation. The extended Bourbon barrel rest adds richness and depth without ever overshadowing the natural character of the blue agave sourced from the San Jose de Gracia region.
- Nose: Sweet cooked agave with touches of butterscotch and warm fruit
- Palate: Deliciously balanced agave and oak with natural agave sweetness leading into hints of spice, custard cream, apple cider, citrus blossoms, minerality, and fresh herbs
- Finish: Medium bodied, fruity, and satisfyingly tasty with a lingering warmth
Calle 23 Reposado shines in a classic Tequila Old Fashioned, where its Bourbon barrel heritage and agave sweetness feel right at home, and it is equally impressive in a Paloma, where the citrus blossom and apple notes bloom against grapefruit soda.
Best enjoyed neat or on the rocks to appreciate its full complexity. Calle 23 Reposado is a blue agave tequila from the Highland region of San Jose de Gracia, Jalisco, Mexico.
