Aged for 18 months in Napa Valley Cabernet French White Oak wine barrels, Codigo 1530 Anejo is a tequila that bridges the worlds of fine wine and premium agave spirits with quiet sophistication. This award-winning expression earned Double Gold at the Stuttgart International Spirits Competition, Platinum Best in Class at the SIP Awards, and Anejo of the Year at the NY International Spirits Competition.
Crafted at Varo Destileria in Amatitan, Jalisco under NOM 1616, Codigo 1530 Anejo is produced without additives, allowing the interplay between highland blue Weber agave and wine-soaked oak to speak entirely for itself. The extended barrel rest in repurposed Cabernet casks imparts a depth and elegance rarely found in the anejo category.
- Nose: Rich dried fruit, warm vanilla, and toasted oak with a whisper of wine-barrel sweetness carried through from the Cabernet barrels.
- Palate: Silky and full-bodied with notes of dark chocolate, caramel, ripe stone fruit, and roasted agave balanced by subtle tannins from the French White Oak.
- Finish: Long, warm, and smooth with lingering notes of sweet oak, dark fruit, and a gentle peppery agave signature.
Codigo 1530 Anejo is exceptional sipped neat or on a single large ice cube, though its depth and structure make it a show-stopping base for an elevated Old Fashioned or a refined Tequila Manhattan.
Best enjoyed neat or on the rocks to fully appreciate its 18-month barrel maturation. Produced from blue Weber agave in Amatitan, Jalisco and bottled additive free.
