A beloved staple of the Los Altos highlands and a cornerstone of the Camarena family legacy, Tapatio Reposado Tequila delivers the kind of honest, classic craftsmanship that has earned it a devoted following in Mexico for generations.
Produced at NOM 1139 under the direction of Master Distiller Felipe Camarena in Arandas, Jalisco, this reposado rests for 4 to 6 months in American white oak barrels previously used for bourbon, a process that gently layers depth onto the bright, high-altitude agave character the Los Altos region is known for.
- Nose: Buttery cooked agave with sweet ripe fruit, caramel, and subtle hints of oak and smoke
- Palate: Rich, dominant cooked agave flavor with light pepper, faint notes of bourbon, caramel, coffee, and cocoa
- Finish: Soft and lasting with a gentle touch of spice
Tapatio Reposado is a natural fit for a classic margarita, where its agave-forward character shines through, and equally rewarding in an Aged Tequila Old Fashioned that lets the bourbon barrel influence take center stage.
Sip it neat to appreciate the full range of Felipe Camarena's craft, or over a single large ice cube to open up its subtler notes. Produced from estate-grown highland agave in Arandas, Los Altos, Jalisco.
