Quiotes - How agaves grow!

Is that a quiote or are you just happy to see me?

Quiotes are large reproductive stalks that grow out of the heart of an agave when they are ready to flower, be pollinated, and produce seeds. Agaves are pollinated by bats. Bats love the tasty nectar in the heart of the flowers or floras that grow on the quiotes, and only open at night. When they use their long tongues to dig deep into the floras, their furry little heads are covered in pollen, which they carry to the next tasty agave plant they fly off to next. Yum.
