Tequila Stills

Tequila stills come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and scale. This is one of the beautiful points of differentiation for the creation of each Tequila brand. The process and theory behind distillation is the same but different equipment and approaches, bring out different flavors and expressions. Most distilleries used copper stills at one time but due to the price and difficulty of cleaning copper, many have transitioned to stainless steel. Some even have copper elements inside of a stainless body! Pictured here are a charentais pot still, copper pot stills, and stainless steel pot still.
