Crafted in tribute to the original high-proof tequilas that defined the spirit's storied past, the Atanasio Origenes Blanco is a small-batch expression made by Maestro Tequilero Rene Carranza that was once available only at the distillery itself. Oxygenated and bottled at proof to preserve its raw, agave-forward character, this is tequila the way it was always meant to be made.
Produced at NOM 1599 in San Pedro de los Landeros, Jalisco, this blanco is the work of a single master distiller dedicated to honoring traditional methods without compromise. Hand-crafted in small batches, the Origenes expression reflects both the terroir of its Jalisco homeland and Carranza's commitment to coaxing every ounce of agave character from the process.
- Nose: Vibrant green and cooked agave lead the way, with earthy funk and a pleasant herbality threading through the background.
- Palate: A warm heat opens alongside a whisper of smoke, giving way to white pepper, roasted agave sweetness, fresh citrus, and clean herbal notes with a touch of ethanol.
- Finish: Bright and lively with a satisfying heat that lingers alongside a long, sweet agave fade.
The Atanasio Origenes Blanco is an excellent choice for a classic Paloma, where its citrus and herbal backbone can shine, and it holds its own beautifully in a well-built Tommy's Margarita.
Best enjoyed neat or on the rocks to fully appreciate its complexity. A high-proof blanco tequila crafted from agave in San Pedro de los Landeros, Jalisco.

The name Atanasio comes from Spanish and Greek roots, and means “immortal,” tying closely to the brand as they pay homage to its creator, Tio Atanasio, who lived to be 103 years old. You’ll see this number on the neck of the bottle in honor of him and his philosophy that “with a little bit of Tequila every day, one can live forever.” Now, generations later, with Maestro Tequilero Rene Carranza at the helm, Atanasio produces some of our favorite expressions of Tequila coming from the Valley.
