Crafted to honor 130 years of Casa San Matias, this additive-free blanco tequila is produced exclusively using the ancient tahona method, with the same basalt stone wheel that has been rolling at the distillery for over a century. The result is a Jalisco blanco of rare historical character and depth.
Distilled at Tequila San Matias de Jalisco under NOM 1103 in the highlands community of Ojo de Agua de Latillas, Jalisco, San Matias Tahona Blanco is fermented in traditional pine wood vats and made without additives, preserving every nuance that the slow-ground agave and time-honored process have to offer. Its Wine Enthusiast Best of the Year 2017 recognition speaks to a spirit that earns its reputation.
- Nose: Roasted agave, fresh earth, and subtle sweetness with a clean, mineral lift characteristic of tahona-produced blanco tequila.
- Palate: Rich and textured with cooked agave, light citrus, a touch of white pepper, and a satisfying herbal complexity.
- Finish: Long, clean, and pleasantly earthy with lingering agave sweetness and a gentle minerality.
San Matias Tahona Blanco shines in a classic Margarita, where its depth of flavor elevates the drink beyond the ordinary, and holds its own in a Paloma, complementing grapefruit with its natural herbal and citrus notes.
Best enjoyed neat or on the rocks to fully appreciate its traditional character. A certified additive-free blanco tequila made from blue Weber agave, sourced from the highlands of Jalisco.
