About Azuñia Tequila

Azuñia is the export tequila of Agaveros Unidos de Amatitán and its Rancho Miravalle estate, at the foot of the Volcán de Tequila in Amatitán, Jalisco. The distillery grew from two local agave farmers, Enrique Zepeda and Salvador Rivera Lizardi, and it is still run by their families. Estate-grown Blue Weber agave is roasted for 36 hours in clay hornos, fermented in open air with wild yeast and double distilled. Water comes from an underground well filtered through volcanic rock. Each Añejo carries a leather bracelet and silver coin, a nod to a local legend of coins scattered in the agave fields.
