About Calenda Mezcal

Calenda is made by the team behind Bozal Mezcal, in the Etla area of Oaxaca's Valles Centrales. It is an ensamble of Espadín and Mexicano agaves, roasted in an underground conical oven lined with volcanic rock and crushed with a solar-powered mill. The juice ferments in open-air pine vats with deep well water and natural yeast, then is double distilled in copper stills under maestro César Caro. The name comes from the calendas, the festive street parades that mark celebrations across Oaxaca. Bottled at 43% ABV, it is a rounded, easy mezcal for sipping or mixing.
