About Lapis Tequila

Lapis is made at the Tequileña distillery in the town of Tequila by master distiller Enrique Fonseca, one of Mexico's largest growers of highland agave. Fonseca was born and raised in Atotonilco el Alto, and Lapis uses agave grown around his hometown at about 5,200 feet. The rugged highland conditions push the plants to build up more natural sugar, which gives Lapis its aroma and depth. The Reposado and Añejo are aged only in French oak, for a rich, buttery profile with plenty of agave character.
