Mezcal from Miahuatlán, Oaxaca
Miahuatlán de Porfirio Díaz is the main town of Oaxaca's Sierra Sur, set at an average elevation of about 1,600 meters in the mountains south of Oaxaca City. Its name comes from the Nahuatl for place of the corn tassel, and it was a Zapotec trading center before the Spanish arrived.
