About Tierra y Libertad Tequila

Tierra y Libertad means land and liberty, the rallying cry of the Mexican Revolution. The Generala, the brand's still strength blanco, is made at NOM 1626, Tequilera Ríos in San Juanito de Escobedo, in the Jalisco valleys. Its agave comes from Nayarit and is cooked in stone and brick ovens, then crushed with a tahona. Fermentation is spontaneous and open to the air in stainless steel tanks, with deep well water. It is distilled twice in stainless pot stills with copper coils and bottled at 110 proof.
