One of the oldest Extra Anejo tequilas on the market, Codigo 1530 Origen spends six full years resting in Napa Valley Cabernet French White Oak wine barrels, producing a spirit that bridges the worlds of fine tequila, aged whiskey, and cognac.
Crafted at Varo Destileria under NOM 1616 in Amatitan, Jalisco, this additive free expression earns its Gold distinction from the SIP Awards through an unhurried, deliberate aging process that lets premium oak and agave character fully intertwine over half a decade.
- Nose: Rich dried fruit, toasted oak, and warm vanilla with hints of dark caramel and a whisper of wine barrel influence
- Palate: Velvety layers of candied fig, butterscotch, roasted agave, and baking spice with a luxurious, almost cognac-like weight
- Finish: Long and warming with lingering notes of dark chocolate, oak tannins, and a gentle agave sweetness
Codigo 1530 Origen is exceptional served neat or over a single large ice cube, though it also elevates a classic Old Fashioned or Sidecar for those who want to explore its cocktail versatility.
Best enjoyed neat or on the rocks to appreciate its full complexity. Blue agave spirit from Amatitan, Jalisco.
