El Nacimiento is made at Fábrica de Tequila El Nacimiento, NOM 1455, in Arandas, in the Jalisco Highlands. The family behind it has grown agave for more than 100 years and only uses plants at least seven years old, brought down from the fields by donkey. The agave is cooked in brick ovens, crushed with a roller mill and distilled twice in pot stills, with volcanic spring water and the brand's own yeast. For four generations the family made it only for themselves and to share with the local priest. Hector Arellano Jr. is a co-founder of the brand.
