Most cocktail roundups come from food bloggers who grabbed whatever bottle was on the shelf. This one comes from the people who actually make the tequila, plus one from our own team at Sip.
Happy National Cocktail Day. Here are five cocktails worth your attention.
1. Agua de Jamaica Margarita
Featuring: G4 Blanco
G4's take on the margarita swaps the standard mix for hibiscus tea, adding color and a tart, floral depth that plays well against their clean, additive-free blanco. Felipe Camarena's family has been making tequila in Los Altos since 1937, and G4 is built on three ingredients: agave, water, and yeast. That purity makes it a natural fit for cocktails where you actually want to taste the tequila.
- G4 Blanco
- Hibiscus tea (agua de jamaica)
- Fresh lime juice
- Agave nectar
Shake with ice, strain into a salt-rimmed glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Full recipe on G4's cocktail page.
2. Coco-drillo
Featuring: El Tequileño Cristalino
Tall, refreshing, and built for warm weather. El Tequileño has been producing tequila in the town of Tequila since 1959, and the Cristalino brings aged complexity in a crystal-clear package. The coconut water and lime keep things light while the spirit does the heavy lifting.
- 2 oz El Tequileño Cristalino
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- Fresh coconut water (to top)
Build in a highball glass over cubed ice, stir gently. Garnish with fresh mint and shredded coconut.

Full recipe on El Tequileño's cocktail page.
3. El Diablo
Featuring: Partida Roble Fino Reposado
The El Diablo is a classic that doesn't get enough love. Partida's Roble Fino Reposado is double-aged in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in sherry-seasoned single malt casks, which gives it dried fruit, vanilla, and maple syrup notes that stand up beautifully to the ginger beer and crème de cassis.
- 1.5 oz Partida Roble Fino Reposado
- 0.5 oz crème de cassis
- 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
- 4 oz ginger beer
In a shaker filled with ice, pour the tequila and lime juice. Strain into a highball glass. Pour the ginger beer and top with crème de cassis. Garnish with lime wedge.

Full recipe on Partida's cocktail page.
4. Volcán Viejo
Featuring: Volcán Reposado
Volcán de Mi Tierra is named after the real volcano that shaped the Jalisco lowlands 200,000 years ago, enriching the soil where their agave grows. The Volcán Viejo pairs the reposado's warm vanilla and caramel notes with yellow Chartreuse's herbal bite and fresh cucumber for something bright, complex, and unexpected.
- 1.5 oz Volcán Reposado
- 0.5 oz yellow Chartreuse
- 1 oz lime juice
- 0.25 oz simple syrup
- 3 cucumber chunks
Muddle cucumber, add remaining ingredients with ice, shake well, strain into glass. Garnish with cucumber slice.

Full recipe on Volcán's cocktail page.
5. Tequila Negroni
Featuring: Compoveda Añejo
This one's from our blog. Compoveda ages in French and American oak red wine barrels from Napa Valley, which gives the Añejo notes of vanilla, jammy red fruit, and toasted oak. That wine-barrel character makes it a natural swap for the whiskey or gin in a Negroni. The Campari's bitterness cuts through the sweetness, and the vermouth ties it all together.
- 1 oz Compoveda Añejo
- 1 oz Campari
- 1 oz sweet vermouth (Cocchi di Torino)
Stir in a mixing glass for about 15 seconds, strain over a large ice cube. Garnish with an orange wheel or lemon twist.
