Siete Leguas Single Barrel Anejo Tequila finished in French oak is a rare and refined expression from one of the Highlands most celebrated distilleries, offering collectors and enthusiasts an extraordinary look at what patient aging in carefully selected wood can achieve.
Produced at the legendary Siete Leguas distillery in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, this single barrel anejo is crafted from 100% Blue Weber agave harvested at full maturity. The piñas are slow-cooked in traditional stone ovens, fermented with the distillery's proprietary yeast strain, and double distilled in copper pot stills before being laid down in individual French oak barrels. The result is a tequila of remarkable individuality, shaped entirely by a single cask and the unique influence of European oak over an extended aging period.
- Nose: Rich vanilla, toasted brioche, dried apricot, and a whisper of floral violet with subtle hints of baking spice and butterscotch
- Palate: Layers of roasted agave, dark caramel, dark chocolate, fig jam, and a refined tannic structure that speaks directly to the French oak influence
- Finish: Long, warm, and elegant with lingering notes of candied orange peel, espresso, and a gentle earthiness that recalls the highland terroir
This anejo shines when poured neat or over a single large ice cube to let the barrel character slowly open up. For those who enjoy a refined cocktail, it makes a breathtaking Old Fashioned with a touch of agave nectar and a wide orange peel expressed over the glass.
Best enjoyed neat or lightly chilled. Siete Leguas Single Barrel Anejo Tequila (French Oak) is made from 100% Blue Weber agave, distilled in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.
