Aged for a minimum of three years in ex-American oak whiskey barrels, Tequila Ocho Extra Anejo represents the pinnacle of what master distiller Carlos Camarena coaxes from the highland agaves of Arandas, Jalisco. This additive-free expression arrives in a redesigned bottle, but the liquid inside remains as patient and purposeful as ever.
Crafted at NOM 1474 in the red clay highlands of Jalisco, Tequila Ocho is renowned for its single-estate, vintage-dated philosophy that honors the land where each harvest is grown. The extra anejo expression takes that terroir-driven approach and deepens it through years of barrel maturation, allowing the natural richness of the agave to evolve alongside toasted oak without ever losing its identity.
- Nose: Vanilla, toasted almonds, caramel, freshly split timber, and dry roasted chiles
- Palate: Roasted agave, sweet potato, dried fruits, honey butter, cinnamon, and clove
- Finish: A dry approach with notes of cacao and cedar that warm and mellow into feelings of melting milk chocolate and silky custard
Tequila Ocho Extra Anejo is exceptional sipped neat, but its depth and sweetness also make it a stunning base for an elevated Old Fashioned or a sophisticated Tequila Manhattan where its barrel-aged complexity can truly shine.
Best enjoyed neat or over a single large ice cube to let the aromas open gradually. Made from 100% blue Weber agave grown in the highlands of Arandas, Jalisco.
