About Amatiteña Tequila

Amatiteña is made by maestro tequilero Alberto Partida, who named it after Amatitán, the Jalisco village where he grew up. It comes from NOM 1477 and single estate agave, and each label notes the field and the year the agave was planted. The piñas cook in stone ovens over direct mesquite fire, then a volcanic stone tahona driven by a mechanical arm crushes them. Juice and fibers ferment in open-air wood tanks with wild yeast before distillation in the distillery's 19th century copper pot stills. Every bottle is sealed and marked by hand.
