Felipe Camarena's ArteNom Seleccion de 1579 Blanco is a masterclass in highland terroir, fermented with collected rainwater and distilled at the groundbreaking El Pandillo distillery in Jesus Maria, Los Altos.
At NOM 1579, Camarena employs small-volume copper pot stills and a precise 50/50 blend of rainwater and filtered well water for distillation, coaxing every nuance from the sugar-rich blue agave grown in the mineral-dense soils of the Los Altos highlands. Active aeration prior to bottling further opens the spirit, revealing the full character of this exceptional terroir. Verified additive-free by Tequila Matchmaker.
- Nose: Yeasty minerality, fresh rainfall, cooked agave, and a bright lift of mint
- Palate: Spearmint and freshly cut grass give way to deeply caramelized agave, delivering a warm, full, and medium-bodied mouthfeel
- Finish: Rounded, soft, and persistent
This blanco shines in a Tommy's Margarita, where its mineral backbone and fresh agave character take center stage, and it performs equally well in a Paloma, letting the highland brightness cut through citrus and grapefruit.
Best enjoyed neat or on the rocks to fully appreciate its terroir-driven complexity. ArteNom Seleccion de 1579 Blanco is crafted from highland blue agave grown in Jesus Maria, Los Altos.
