Rooted in the rugged highlands of San Pedro de los Laredos, Jalisco, the Atanasio Origenes "Fibras y Fuego" Blanco is a testament to what tequila looks like when tradition and terroir take center stage. Master Distiller Rene Carranza crafts this expression under NOM 1599 with an emphasis on agave character that is raw, honest, and unmistakably alive.

The name "Fibras y Fuego" -- Fibers and Fire -- hints at the philosophy behind this blanco: a deep respect for the physical transformation of agave from plant to spirit. Sourced from the highlands of Jalisco, the blue Weber agave used in this expression benefits from the mineral-rich soils and elevation that define San Pedro de los Laredos, yielding a spirit with natural complexity straight off the still.

  • Nose: Fresh agave, citrus zest, and a touch of white pepper with herbaceous green notes rising from the glass.
  • Palate: Bright and structured, with cooked agave sweetness, mineral depth, subtle smoke, and a lively vegetal backbone that speaks to its highland origins.
  • Finish: Clean and lingering, with a gentle warmth and a return of herbal and earthy tones that invite the next sip.

The Atanasio Fibras y Fuego Blanco shines in a Paloma, where its citrus-forward brightness plays beautifully against grapefruit soda, and holds its own in a classic Tequila Sour where its mineral edge cuts through the citrus and foam.

Best enjoyed neat or over a single large ice cube to let the agave character fully open up. Produced from 100% blue Weber agave in the highland region of San Pedro de los Laredos, Jalisco.

Tequila Atanasio comes to the Sip Tequila portfolio from the small town of San Pedro de los Landeros, just 10 minutes northwest of the town of Tequila. The name Atanasio comes from Spanish and Greek roots, and means “immortal,” tying closely to the brand as they pay homage to Tio Atanasio, an agave farmer who lived to be 103 years old. You’ll see this number on the neck of the bottle in honor of him and his philosophy that “with a little bit of Tequila every day, one can live forever.” Now, with Maestro Tequilero Réne Carranza at the helm, Atanasio produces some of our favorite expressions of Tequila coming from the Valley.
