Cascahuin Plata 48 is a high-proof blanco tequila bottled straight from the still, unfiltered and undiluted, preserving every ounce of raw Valley character that makes El Arenal, Jalisco tequila production so distinctive.
Crafted by master distiller Salvador "Chava" Rosales under NOM 1123, this expression is a true product of the Valley region, where rich volcanic soils and traditional production methods yield agave with pronounced mineral depth and rustic complexity. Distilled to proof and left untouched, the Plata 48 retains the residual agave oils that give it a full, weighted mouthfeel uncommon in filtered expressions.
- Nose: Fresh mint, green agave, cilantro, and raw walnuts open with vivid, unpolished intensity.
- Palate: A full-mouth salinity and agave sweetness lead into freshly baked bread, thyme, peppercorns, and a touch of underripe banana amargo.
- Finish: The elevated proof drives a dry, weighted finish, lifted by a lightly honeyed sweetness and a lip-smacking herbal bouquet that lingers.
The Cascahuin Plata 48 holds its own beautifully in a Tommy's Margarita, where its herbal depth and natural salinity can shine, or served alongside a simple Paloma to let the pepper and citrus notes play off each other.
Best enjoyed neat or with a single large ice cube to open up the aromatics. Produced from highland-valley blue weber agave in El Arenal, Jalisco.
