A once-in-a-lifetime collaboration between Codigo 1530 and country music legend George Strait, this Extra Anejo Tequila was personally hand-selected from just six Napa Valley Cabernet French White Oak wine barrels during the filming of his hit song "Codigo" in Amatitan, Jalisco.

Crafted at Varo Destileria under NOM 1616 in the historic agave heartland of Amatitan, Jalisco, this limited edition Extra Anejo rests for six years in French White Oak barrels previously used for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, coaxing extraordinary depth and complexity from the blue agave spirit within.

Nose: Rich oak and vanilla open alongside cooked agave, warm caramel, and hints of dried fruit for an inviting and layered bouquet.
Palate: Toasted oak sets the stage as vanilla, caramel, and cooked agave take the lead, with a subtle whisper of coffee woven throughout.
Finish: A dry yet sweetly satisfying finish that lingers long after the last sip.

The depth and elegance of this Extra Anejo make it a natural choice for a refined Old Fashioned or a simple Tequila Sour, though its silky character is best appreciated when poured neat or over a single large rock.

Best served neat or on the rocks to honor its six years of careful aging. Made from blue agave in Amatitan, Jalisco, this is a collector-worthy release from one of the most storied names in premium Tequila.

Tequila Código 1530 comes to the Sip Tequila portfolio from the town of Amatitán in the valley region of Jalisco. Amatitán in particular is known for its earthy, rich, and herbal leaning Tequila profiles and Código holds true to this tradition. The expressions in Código’s lineup are aged in carefully sourced French White Oak barrels previously used in the Napa Valley of California, namely the Rosa with its pink hues from 1 months time in barrel, are a fantastic balance of sweetness and vegetal notes of cooked agave, and the subtle notes of oak and red fruits of the wine barrels. Código 1530 is a special project from former CEO of Crocs, Ron Snyder and Federico “Fede” Vaughan with financial backing from country superstar George Strait, retired NHL star Brett Hull, and former NFL coach Mike Shanahan.

Amatitán, Jalisco

Amatitán sits in the Tequila valley of Jalisco, a short drive southeast of the town of Tequila. Half of the municipality is flat farmland, mostly red clay soils over volcanic basalt, and blue agave is its main crop in a hot, dry climate with summer rains. Local tradition holds that tequila was first distilled in the nearby Tecuane barranca, where an early distillery site is still a local landmark. Amatitán lies within the Agave Landscape that UNESCO named a World Heritage Site in 2006.
