A rare single barrel expression from one of Jalisco's most deliberate craft producers, Compoveda Anejo Single Barrel is the result of 16 months across two distinct cask regimens that coax extraordinary depth from additive-free highland tequila.
Crafted under Master Distiller Sixto Vera Garcia at NOM 1068 in Capilla de Guadalupe, Jalisco, this limited release anejo rests 8 months in ex-Bourbon casks before finishing an additional 8 months in ex-Cabernet wine casks. The double barrel aging journey produces a tequila that honors the agave while layering in vinous richness and whiskey warmth rarely found in the category.
- Nose: Dark cherries, honeycomb, and salted caramel with an inviting sweetness that signals the complexity within.
- Palate: Deeply roasted agave leads into red fruits, bourbon character, dark chocolate, and sweet oak in a rich, full-bodied expression.
- Finish: Long and satisfying with a developing sweetness that lingers well after the last sip.
Compoveda Anejo Single Barrel shines neat or on a single large ice cube, but it also brings serious character to an Old Fashioned or a Tequila Manhattan, where its bourbon and wine cask notes play beautifully alongside bitters and vermouth.
Best enjoyed neat or on the rocks to fully appreciate the craftsmanship. A single barrel, limited release anejo tequila from Capilla de Guadalupe, Jalisco, presented with etching and gift bag for a premium gifting experience.
