Terralta Reposado Tequila delivers the kind of honest, agave-forward character that serious tequila drinkers seek out and return to. Crafted with a commitment to traditional methods and minimal intervention, this is a reposado that lets the spirit speak for itself.

Produced from highland-grown blue Weber agave, Terralta follows a production philosophy rooted in restraint and authenticity. The reposado expression rests in oak just long enough to develop warmth and complexity without masking the bright, vegetal soul of the agave beneath.

  • Nose: Fresh cooked agave, light vanilla, and a touch of green herb with subtle woody undertones from the oak rest.
  • Palate: Smooth and well-balanced, with roasted agave, gentle caramel sweetness, warm baking spice, and a hint of citrus zest.
  • Finish: Clean and moderately long, with lingering agave earthiness and a soft warmth that invites the next sip.

Terralta Reposado shines in a Tequila Old Fashioned, where its oak-kissed character can anchor the cocktail with depth, and it holds its own beautifully in a classic Paloma alongside grapefruit soda and a salted rim.

Best enjoyed neat or on the rocks to appreciate its full range of flavor, Terralta Reposado is made from 100% blue Weber agave and represents the highlands tequila tradition at an exceptional value.

Terralta is made by Felipe Camarena at Destilería El Pandillo, NOM 1579, in Jesús María, high in the Jalisco Highlands. Highland agave is cooked for 22 hours in stone ovens, then crushed by Frankenstein, a mechanical tahona Felipe built from junkyard railway parts. The juice ferments with wild yeast and is distilled twice in copper stills, using deep well water drawn from about 150 meters down. Felipe, a civil engineer by training, believes good water matters as much as good agave. Nothing is added.

Map of Jalisco, Mexico, with Jesús María marked

Jesús María sits at about 2,100 meters in Los Altos de Jalisco, southeast of Arandas on the border with Guanajuato, which makes it one of the higher tequila towns in the state. The plateau's red, clay-rich soils and temperate climate, with frost on some winter nights, let blue agave mature slowly and develop a sweet, fruity character. Agave is a major crop here, and tequila making is one of the main sources of work in the municipality.
