A true collector's pour, this Gran Dovejo Sip Tequila exclusive is a cask strength single barrel anejo aged 625 days in uncharred, previously used Jack Daniels barrels, with just 174 bottles brought into existence.
Crafted in Arandas, Jalisco under the care of Master Distiller Sergio Cruz at NOM 1414, this tequila is distilled at 49% and reduced only slightly before barrel entry, preserving maximum character from the agave. Verified additive-free by Tequila Matchmaker, it represents the kind of transparent, craft-forward production that defines the best of the Highlands.
- Nose: Dried fruit, toasted oak, almonds, and sweet cooked agave
- Palate: Rich toasted oak anchors a cooked agave core, with bright touches of mint and warm cinnamon
- Finish: Slightly drying with a lingering whisper of vanilla
Bold enough to anchor an Old Fashioned and complex enough to elevate a Tequila Sour, this single barrel anejo rewards those willing to let it do the heavy lifting in a cocktail.
Best enjoyed neat or over a single large ice cube to open up the oak and agave; a Highlands Jalisco anejo from Gran Dovejo produced exclusively for Sip Tequila.
