MG Mezcal is a traditionally crafted spirit that honors the ancient art of mezcal production, delivering the kind of smoky complexity and artisanal character that defines the category at its finest.

Rooted in Mexico's rich mezcal-making heritage, MG Mezcal is produced using time-honored methods that prioritize handcrafted quality over volume, resulting in a spirit that carries the unmistakable soul of small-batch agave distillation.

  • Nose: Classic mezcal aromatics with earthy agave character and a whisper of smoke
  • Palate: Smooth and layered with roasted agave sweetness balanced by savory depth
  • Finish: Warm and lingering with a satisfying smoky close

MG Mezcal shines in a Mezcal Negroni or a smoky Mezcal Margarita, where its distinctive character elevates the cocktail without overpowering the other ingredients.

Best enjoyed neat or over a single large ice cube to allow its full agave-forward profile to open up. MG Mezcal is a compelling introduction to the world of artisanal Mexican mezcal for newcomers and a worthy addition to any serious spirits collection.

Master Distiller: Juan Manuel Conde
MG Mezcal is a mezcal gin from Maguey Spirits, the company Christian and Alejandro Rossbach run at the Hacienda de San José Acevedo in the mountains of Durango. Maestro mezcalero Juan Manuel Conde makes it from Cenizo agave, fermenting in open-air wooden vats with wild yeast and mountain spring water. He distills twice in small copper pot stills, adding the botanicals pechuga style: juniper, cardamom, angelica and orange peel alongside ancho chile, hibiscus, lemongrass and avocado leaf. Conde came home to Durango after 15 years working in the US.
LOCATION

San Nicolás de Acevedo, Durango

San Nicolás de Acevedo is a small village in the mountains of southern Durango, about an hour from the town of Nombre de Dios. It grew up around an old colonial hacienda, and wild sotol and agave grow on the hills and ejidos around it. Spirits here are still cooked in underground pits and fermented with spring water from the mountains. Durango is part of the denominations of origin for both mezcal and sotol.
