Santanera Seleccion De Bosques Anejo is a testament to what happens when ancient forests meet meticulous craft: each barrel is built from trees up to 400 years old, sustainably harvested from forests around the world and processed over 36 months before a single drop of tequila ever touches the wood.
Working in close collaboration with renowned French cooperage Nadalié Tonnellerie, the Santanera team hand-selects timber from individual forests, purchased at auction from the Office National des Forets. The wood undergoes 36 months of seasoning and is toasted to unique specifications, yielding barrels the team calls Primera Calidad Bosques, or premium forest quality. This additive-free, limited-release anejo tequila is the rare result of that painstaking patience.
- Nose: Expect the warmth and complexity that only old-growth wood and well-rested agave spirit can produce, with hints of toasted oak, vanilla, and subtle earthiness.
- Palate: Rich and layered, with the signature character of a long barrel rest amplified by the unique minerality and depth drawn from centuries-old timber.
- Finish: Long and contemplative, with lingering wood spice and a smooth, refined warmth that reflects the extraordinary care behind every barrel.
Santanera Seleccion De Bosques Anejo is refined enough to stand beautifully on its own, but its depth and structure also make it an exceptional choice for an elevated Old Fashioned or a Tequila Manhattan where the barrel character can truly shine.
Best enjoyed neat or over a single large ice cube to let the full complexity unfold. This is a limited-release, additive-free anejo tequila crafted from blue agave, representing one of the most labor-intensive and thoughtfully sourced expressions in the Santanera portfolio.
