A rare collision of two iconic traditions, Tequila Ocho Anejo Barrel Select: Old Fitzgerald finishes 12 months of single-estate agave maturation in coveted casks from Old Fitzgerald Bourbon's 10-Year Spring 2023 Decanter Series, bridging the highlands of Jalisco with the storied cellars of Kentucky.
Released as two simultaneous 2023 vintages, each bottle in this limited release draws from a distinct ranch: Rancho Coralillos and Rancho Potrero Grande. Tequila Ocho's signature single-field philosophy means every bottle carries the fingerprint of its land, and here that terroir-driven identity is deepened by the rich legacy of Old Fitzgerald Bourbon's prized oak. Bottled at 96 proof, the result is an anejo of unusual depth and character.
- Nose: Warm caramel and toasted vanilla from the bourbon casks mingle with bright cooked agave, dried fruit, and a whisper of leather and spice.
- Palate: Layers of butterscotch, candied orange peel, and roasted agave unfold alongside notes of baking spice, toasted oak, and a subtle earthy sweetness tied to its single-estate origin.
- Finish: Long and warming, with lingering caramel, light smoke, and the clean mineral character that defines Tequila Ocho's ranch-specific expressions.
The complexity and proof of this expression make it a compelling choice for an elevated Old Fashioned or a refined Tequila Manhattan, where the bourbon cask influence bridges both worlds beautifully.
Best enjoyed neat or over a single large ice cube to let the full range of aromas and flavors open gradually. This expression is produced from highland blue agave in Jalisco, Mexico, and is a strictly limited release not intended to be repeated.
