Clase Azul Gold is a rare joven tequila that marries the purity of Clase Azul Plata with the complexity of a specially selected reposado aged in French oak and an eight-year-old extra anejo matured in American whiskey casks and finished in sherry casks. The result is a spirit of extraordinary depth, housed in one of the most iconic decanters in the world of agave spirits.

Crafted at Casa Tradicion (NOM 1595) in San Agustin, Jalisco, Clase Azul Gold reflects the artistry that defines this celebrated brand. Its collectors decanter features glass fused against a hand-crafted black ceramic base, a technique Clase Azul artisans spent six years perfecting, making each bottle as much a work of art as a premium tequila.

  • Nose: Agave, green apple, orange peel, fresh fig, dried fruits, and toasted nuts
  • Palate: Toasted oak, fresh fig, green olives, dark chocolate, and caramel
  • Finish: Medium-bodied and lasting

The layered sweetness and oak complexity of Clase Azul Gold make it a natural fit for a sophisticated Old Fashioned or a refined Tequila Sour, though its depth truly shines when sipped neat.

Best enjoyed neat or over a single large ice cube to let its full character unfold. Clase Azul Gold is a joven tequila produced in San Agustin, Jalisco, from premium blue agave.

Clase Azul México was founded by Arturo Lomelí, and master distiller Viridiana Tinoco guides every spirit it makes today. Its tequilas come from La Hacienda in Capilla de Guadalupe, in Los Altos de Jalisco, where highland Blue Weber agave is cooked in stone ovens and double distilled in copper pot stills. The mezcals are made in Durango, Guerrero and San Luis Potosí, each from an agave native to that state. Every ceramic decanter is shaped and hand-painted by artisans, and the Reposado decanter alone takes seven days to make.

Capilla de Guadalupe is a small city in the municipality of Tepatitlán, in Los Altos de Jalisco, set at about 2,020 meters on a highland valley ringed by hills such as Cerro Gordo. Founded in 1820, it lies inside the tequila denomination of origin, and tequila is its leading industry, along with agave syrup and inulin made from the same plant. The red soils and cool winters of the plateau, where snow has occasionally fallen, suit slow-growing blue agave.
