Clase Azul Blanco Ahumado redefines what a blanco tequila can be, weaving the ancient tradition of smoked agave cooking into a crystal-clear spirit that is as bold as it is refined. Born in the highlands of Los Altos de Jalisco, this limited release expression is a rare glimpse into the ancestral soul of Mexican distilling.

Crafted by Clase Azul using time-honored techniques that honor the art of slow agave roasting, Blanco Ahumado captures subtle smoky character without sacrificing the bright, full-bodied profile that defines the Los Altos de Jalisco terroir. The result is a beautifully transparent tequila presented in Clase Azul's signature handcrafted clear glass bottle, making it as visually striking as it is complex in the glass.

  • Nose: Delicate smoke intertwined with fresh agave, sweet cooked pina, and a whisper of highland minerality
  • Palate: Full-bodied and layered with roasted agave sweetness, subtle earthiness, and a gentle smokiness that never overwhelms
  • Finish: Long and clean with lingering smoke, warm spice, and a touch of natural agave sweetness

The smoky depth of Clase Azul Blanco Ahumado makes it a compelling choice for a Mezcal Negroni riff or a Smoked Paloma, where its nuanced character can shine alongside citrus and bitter notes.

Best enjoyed neat or over a single large ice cube to appreciate its full complexity; this limited release blanco tequila is crafted from highland blue agave in Los Altos de Jalisco, Mexico.

Clase Azul México was founded by Arturo Lomelí, and master distiller Viridiana Tinoco guides every spirit it makes today. Its tequilas come from La Hacienda in Capilla de Guadalupe, in Los Altos de Jalisco, where highland Blue Weber agave is cooked in stone ovens and double distilled in copper pot stills. The mezcals are made in Durango, Guerrero and San Luis Potosí, each from an agave native to that state. Every ceramic decanter is shaped and hand-painted by artisans, and the Reposado decanter alone takes seven days to make.
LOCATION

Capilla de Guadalupe, Jalisco

Capilla de Guadalupe is a small city in the municipality of Tepatitlán, in Los Altos de Jalisco, set at about 2,020 meters on a highland valley ringed by hills such as Cerro Gordo. Founded in 1820, it lies inside the tequila denomination of origin, and tequila is its leading industry, along with agave syrup and inulin made from the same plant. The red soils and cool winters of the plateau, where snow has occasionally fallen, suit slow-growing blue agave.
