Gran Patron Piedra is one of the most ceremonially crafted extra anejo tequilas in the world, built on the ancient tahona process and finished in a hand-blown crystal bottle that signals the care taken at every stage of production.
Distilled at Hacienda Patron in Atotonilco, El Alto under NOM 1492, Piedra is made using the centuries-old tahona method, where a two-ton volcanic stone wheel slowly crushes the roasted agave to extract the finest juice. The resulting spirit is then aged for four years in a combination of French Limousin and new American oak barrels, a dual-barrel regimen that layers depth and complexity far beyond what most extra anejo expressions achieve.
- Nose: Fruity and inviting with a pleasant earthy funk, underscored by toasted oak and warm vanilla
- Palate: Beautifully approachable and sweet, with flavors that open gradually into vanilla, cooked agave, and a grounded earthiness
- Finish: Rich, full, and long-lasting with a deeply satisfying close
Gran Patron Piedra is exceptional sipped neat or on a single large ice cube, though its depth and sweetness also make it a showpiece in an elevated Tequila Old Fashioned or a refined Tequila Manhattan.
Best enjoyed neat to honor the craftsmanship behind it, Gran Patron Piedra is a Blue Weber agave extra anejo tequila from the highlands of Atotonilco, El Alto, presented in a hand-blown crystal decanter that makes it as striking on the shelf as it is in the glass.
