Tapatio Reposado Tequila is a benchmark expression from one of the Jalisco highlands' most respected distilling families, crafted for those who want the full character of agave with the added depth that comes from time in oak.

Produced in the Los Altos region of Jalisco using 100% blue agave, Tapatio has been a cornerstone of traditional tequila production for generations. The reposado rests in oak barrels long enough to soften the spirit's natural agave brightness while layering in subtle warmth and complexity, all without losing the authentic highland character that defines this family's legacy.

  • Nose: Fresh agave and citrus peel with hints of vanilla and light toasted oak
  • Palate: Cooked agave sweetness balanced by gentle spice, caramel, and a touch of dried fruit
  • Finish: Smooth and medium-length with lingering warmth and a clean herbal note

Tapatio Reposado shines in a classic Paloma, where its agave-forward character plays beautifully against grapefruit, and it brings real depth to a well-crafted Tequila Old Fashioned.

Best enjoyed neat or on the rocks to appreciate its barrel-rested nuance. Tapatio Reposado is made from 100% blue agave, sourced from the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.

Tapatío is made at La Alteña, the Camarena family distillery founded in 1937 in the highlands of Arandas, Jalisco (NOM 1139), where Jenny Camarena is now master distiller. First sold in 1940, it is still produced in small batches the traditional way. Highland agave is cooked in stone ovens, crushed by tahona and roller mill, and fermented in wooden vats with the agave fibers. Every expression is distilled twice in small copper pot stills, and the Blanco 110 is bottled at 110 proof for more flavor and less water.
LOCATION

Arandas, Jalisco

Arandas sits at about 2,000 meters in Los Altos de Jalisco, the highland plateau east of Guadalajara. Its red, clay-rich soils and mild, temperate climate let blue agave grow slowly and build up sugar, the source of the sweet, fruity and floral style the Highlands are known for. Agave fields cover much of the municipality, and Arandas is one of the busiest tequila-making towns in Mexico. The town is also known for its giant church bell, often called the largest in Latin America.
