A rare expression of triple-agave artistry, Tres Tribus Mezcal Ensamble brings together three distinct agave varieties under the careful hand of a fifth-generation mezcalero, producing a spirit that is as complex as the land it comes from.

Master Distiller Juan Antonio Coronel crafts this ensamble in San Francisco Nuexano, Oaxaca under NOM 663, blending Angustifolia, Convallis, and Salmiana agaves in a tradition passed down through five generations of mezcal making. The result is a 88-proof spirit with remarkable depth and balance that honors both heritage and terroir.

  • Nose: Inviting and aromatic, with floral and fruity character drawn from the interplay of three distinct agave species.
  • Palate: Jasmine, mango, and honey arrive in layers, lifted by a delicate and pleasing minerality.
  • Finish: Long and satisfying, with bright citrus notes giving way to earthy, grounding flavors that linger.

Tres Tribus Mezcal Ensamble shines in a classic Mezcal Negroni or a Mezcal Sour, where its floral and honeyed complexity elevates the cocktail without overpowering it.

Best enjoyed neat or with a single large ice cube to open up the aromatics. A true expression of Oaxacan mezcal tradition, crafted from Angustifolia, Convallis, and Salmiana agave grown in San Francisco Nuexano, Oaxaca.

Named for the three tribes that first settled the region, Tres Tribus is a small-batch artisanal mezcal hand-crafted by fifth-generation mezcalero Juan Antonio Coronel in the remote mountains of Oaxaca. A descendant of the Zapotec and Mixtec people, Coronel’s family has long handed down the secrets of mezcal. These time-honored traditional techniques bring forth pure, rich, and complex profiles of the wild agave foraged from the region’s lush, pine-covered forests.
