Xoloitzcuintle Extra Anejo Tequila is a rare and deeply expressive spirit that rewards patience, craft, and a reverence for tradition. Named after Mexico's ancient hairless dog, this ultra-aged tequila carries as much character as its legendary namesake.

Crafted in the Jalisco from 100% Blue Weber agave, Xoloitzcuintle Extra Anejo undergoes an extended aging process in oak barrels for a minimum of three years, allowing the spirit to develop extraordinary complexity and a rich, polished depth that sets it apart from younger expressions. The result is a tequila that blurs the line between a world-class aged spirit and a fine sipping experience in a category of its own.

  • Nose: Warm vanilla, toasted oak, dried fruit, and a hint of dark chocolate layered over soft cooked agave sweetness
  • Palate: Roasted caramel, butterscotch, stewed plum, cinnamon spice, and velvety notes of espresso and dark toffee
  • Finish: Long, smooth, and warming with lingering oak, sweet agave, and a whisper of dried cocoa

Xoloitzcuintle Extra Anejo shines best when sipped neat in a Glencairn or snifter glass, though it also elevates a classic Old Fashioned with remarkable elegance, substituting perfectly for whiskey with its deep caramel and spice notes.

Best served neat or over a single large ice cube to appreciate its full range of aged complexity. Xoloitzcuintle Extra Anejo Tequila is made from 100% Blue Weber agave, produced in the celebrated Jalisco highlands region of Mexico.

Xoloitzcuintle Tequila takes its name from Mexico's ancient hairless dog, and the whole range is bottled at high proof. It is made at Hacienda Capellanía (NOM 1545) in San José de Gracia, in the southern Los Altos of Jalisco. The agave is cooked in low-pressure autoclaves, crushed with a roller mill, fermented in stainless steel and distilled twice in pot stills with copper coils. The Plata gets little or no water before bottling at 46% ABV, and the Joven, a blend of Plata, Reposado and Añejo, comes in at 48%. The range is certified kosher.

It sits at about 1,900 meters, with a temperate climate and summer rains from June to September. The ground is red luvisol, an iron-rich clay soil found across the Highlands that is well suited to blue agave. Agave is planted alongside corn and cattle pasture, and the town's parish church is built from the local red stone.
