Arette is made at Destilería El Llano in the town of Tequila, NOM 1109, a distillery founded in 1900. Brothers Eduardo and Jaime Orendain launched the brand in 1986 and serve as its master distillers. For the classic line, agave is cooked in autoclaves, milled, fermented with wild yeast in open stainless tanks and distilled twice in pot stills with copper coils. The name honors Arete, the horse that carried Humberto Mariles to show jumping gold at the 1948 London Olympics.
