Nuestras Raíces—Spanish for "Our Roots"—is a tribute to the deep-rooted traditions of agave distillation, crafted by Humberto Alvarado, a third-generation distiller in the heart of Jalisco. Using a centuries-old family recipe, Humberto preserves the true essence of agave, honoring time-honored methods that celebrate purity and craftsmanship.

We call it "Jugo de la Selva"—Jungle Juice—a raw and unfiltered expression of agave in its wildest form. Nuestras Raíces is vibrant, vegetal, and intensely agave-forward, capturing the untamed character of agave in its purest state. Every drop embodies the hands that shaped it, the spring water that nourished it, and the ancestral knowledge that has stood the test of time.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Bright and herbaceous, with fresh lime, salinity, grilled vegetables and cut grass, layered with grapefruit, mint, roasted pepper and lightly toasted cumin seed

Palate: Lush and full-bodied, with savory roasted peppers, charred vegetables and sea salt, woven through with grapefruit, lime and ripe cooked agave

Finish: Long and warming, with cooked agave sweetness, bright citrus, blistered jalapeño and a subtle thread of minerality

Cazcanes is made at NOM 1614 in Amatitán, Jalisco, by master distiller Francisco "Don Chico" Jiménez, who has more than four decades in tequila. Organic Blue Weber agave is slow-cooked in a low-pressure autoclave, crushed in a roller mill, fermented open-air with a proprietary yeast and double distilled in stainless pot stills with copper coils. Every batch uses volcanic spring water trucked in from the Navichi Springs in Hostotipaquillo. The recipe began with Humberto Alvarado, a third-generation distiller working a jungle still in Jalisco. The name honors the Cazcan people, who resisted Spanish conquest in this region.

La Estancita is a small, remote village in the hills of central Jalisco, between the towns of Tequila and Magdalena. It sits in a pocket of dense, jungle-like growth, a different setting from the open agave fields of the valley floor. Families here have distilled agave by hand for generations, working with small rustic stills and spring water. The village lies inside the tequila appellation, which covers all of Jalisco.
