Where luxury tequila meets underground culture, the Don Julio 1942 x Peggy Gou limited edition is a collector's statement as much as it is a spirit worth savoring. This etched bottle collaboration channels the iconic DJ's electric aesthetic into one of Mexico's most celebrated anejo expressions.

Don Julio 1942 is crafted from 100% blue agave in the Highlands of Jalisco, slow-cooked and aged for a minimum of two and a half years in American white oak barrels to develop its signature richness. The Peggy Gou edition presents that same award-winning liquid in a striking limited-edition etched bottle that transforms the shelf into a stage.

  • Nose: Warm vanilla, roasted agave, and hints of dried fruit with a subtle caramel sweetness
  • Palate: Silky dark chocolate, toasted oak, and ripe stone fruit with a luxuriously smooth, full-bodied texture
  • Finish: Long and warming with lingering notes of toffee, spice, and sweet agave

This anejo tequila is exceptional sipped neat or on the rocks, and holds its own in an elevated Tequila Old Fashioned or a classic Paloma for those who prefer a cocktail moment worthy of the bottle.

Best served neat or over a single large ice cube to let the complexity unfold; sourced from blue agave grown in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.

Don Julio is named for Don Julio González, who founded his La Primavera distillery in Atotonilco el Alto, in the Jalisco Highlands, in 1942. Jimador families who have worked with the brand for three generations harvest the agave plant by plant. The piñas are cooked in masonry ovens, fermented with a yeast strain Don Julio developed himself, and distilled twice in pot stills. He was among the first to age tequila beyond the standard rules. Ultima Reserva is made from the last agave field he planted with his family, in 2006.

Atotonilco el Alto sits on the southern edge of Los Altos de Jalisco, where the land rises from about 1,600 to 2,200 meters above the Ciénega plain. Its Nahuatl name means place of hot water, after the warm springs around town. Blue agave grows across the surrounding farmland in clay soils over volcanic basalt, and tequila making is the municipality's largest industry and employer. Highland agave from here is known for a sweet, fruity and floral profile.
