Komos Anejo Reserva is a masterwork of patience and craft, blending tequilas aged at least one year across oak wine barrels, bourbon barrels, and sherry casks for a profile that earned 99 points from The Tasting Panel Magazine. Housed in a handmade porcelain bottle and produced at the storied Tequila Orendain de Jalisco distillery under NOM 1110, this is anejo tequila elevated to an art form.

Crafted in the heartland of Jalisco's Tequila region, Komos draws on the rich agave traditions of one of Mexico's most respected distilleries. The multi-barrel aging approach sets this anejo apart, coaxing extraordinary depth and layered complexity from estate-quality blue agave while maintaining the smooth, refined character that defines the Komos portfolio.

  • Nose: Toasted almonds, orange blossom, toffee, and warm caramel
  • Palate: Dried mango, hazelnut, bourbon sweetness, cinnamon and pepper with a full-bodied yet soft approach
  • Finish: Lasting and complex, with a lingering warmth that rewards slow sipping

Komos Anejo Reserva is exceptional served neat or on a single large ice cube, and it brings remarkable depth to a classic Old Fashioned or a Tequila Manhattan where its bourbon barrel notes shine beautifully.

Best enjoyed in a wide-mouthed snifter to let the aromas fully open, this blue agave anejo tequila from the Tequila region of Jalisco is a statement bottle worthy of gifting or anchoring any serious spirits collection.

Komos is the work of Master Sommelier Richard Betts and his partner Joe Marchese, who set out to make tequila with the polish of fine wine. It is made at Tequila Orendain de Jalisco in the town of Tequila, from blue Weber agave grown in both the highlands and lowlands of the Tequila Valley. The piñas roast in volcanic stone ovens, ferment with native yeast and are twice distilled in pot stills. Each expression then rests in French oak wine barrels once used by wineries in places like Napa and Sonoma, and is gently aerated before bottling to soften the palate. Every ceramic bottle is hand-dipped in a reactive glaze, so no two look alike.

Tequila is the town that gave the spirit its name, set at about 1,180 meters in the valley below the Tequila volcano, some 60 km northwest of Guadalajara. Blue agave covers the volcanic soils between the volcano and the canyon of the Río Grande de Santiago, a landscape UNESCO named a World Heritage Site in 2006. Large-scale agave distilling began here around 1600, and several of the oldest working distilleries in Mexico still operate in town. Tequila was named a Pueblo Mágico in 2003.
