Padre Azul Reposado Single Barrel brings rare distinction to the world of aged tequila, offering an intimate single-barrel selection that captures one cask's unique character in every bottle. This is tequila for those who seek something beyond the expected.

Crafted in the highlands tradition of Jalisco, Padre Azul Reposado is made from 100% blue Weber agave and rested in oak barrels to develop its signature depth and complexity. The single barrel designation means no two batches are exactly alike, each one a snapshot of a specific cask's evolution over time.

  • Nose: Warm vanilla and toasted oak with underlying cooked agave sweetness and a whisper of dried fruit
  • Palate: Rich caramel and baking spice lead into honeyed agave with gentle wood influence and a touch of dried citrus peel
  • Finish: Smooth and lingering with soft oak tannins and a clean, warm agave character that stays with you

Padre Azul Reposado Single Barrel is exceptional sipped neat or on the rocks, though it also elevates a classic Old Fashioned or a refined Tequila Sour with its oak-kissed depth and natural sweetness.

Best enjoyed neat in a wide-rimmed glass to open up its aromas. Made from 100% blue Weber agave, sourced from the celebrated agave-growing region of Jalisco, Mexico.

Padre Azul started in 2014 with a love story. Hans-Peter Eder, from the Austrian Alps, met Adriana Alvarez Maxemin of Jalisco at a German university, and her father introduced him to real tequila. Master Distiller Erika Sangeado makes it at NOM 1466 in Amatitán, in the Tequila Valley, from agave grown 8 to 10 years. The agave steams for 48 hours in masonry ovens and rests 24 more before two distillations. The aged tequilas rest in hand-picked ex-bourbon barrels, and every hand-blown bottle wears woven leather and a sculpted Day of the Dead skull.

Amatitán sits in the Tequila valley of Jalisco, a short drive southeast of the town of Tequila. Half of the municipality is flat farmland, mostly red clay soils over volcanic basalt, and blue agave is its main crop in a hot, dry climate with summer rains. Local tradition holds that tequila was first distilled in the nearby Tecuane barranca, where an early distillery site is still a local landmark. Amatitán lies within the Agave Landscape that UNESCO named a World Heritage Site in 2006.
