El Tequileno Blanco is a classically crafted Highland-style tequila that honors the deep-rooted traditions of Jalisco's agave culture with every pour. Clean, vibrant, and unapologetically authentic, this blanco captures the pure character of blue Weber agave before it ever sees the inside of a barrel.

Produced in Jalisco, Mexico, El Tequileno has been a cornerstone of tequila heritage since 1959, distilling with time-honored methods that let the agave speak for itself. As an unaged blanco, this expression goes straight from distillation to bottle, preserving the raw, natural essence of the plant and the terroir that shaped it.

  • Nose: Fresh agave, light citrus, and clean vegetal notes with a subtle floral lift
  • Palate: Bright and crisp with cooked agave sweetness, hints of green herb, white pepper, and a touch of lime zest
  • Finish: Clean and refreshing with a gentle, lingering warmth

El Tequileno Blanco shines in a classic Margarita or a refreshing Paloma, where its bright agave-forward profile can carry the cocktail without getting lost behind other ingredients.

Best enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or as the foundation of your favorite tequila cocktail, El Tequileno Blanco is made from 100% blue Weber agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.

Don Jorge Salles Cuervo founded El Tequileño in 1959 at La Guarreña, his distillery in the town of Tequila, and his grandson Tony Salles is master distiller today. Highland agave from Los Altos is cooked in autoclaves with the bitter cogollo cut away, then milled with mineral-rich spring water that flows from the Volcán de Tequila. The juice ferments in open concrete vats under 150-year-old mango trees and is distilled only in copper pot stills. In 1961 the bar La Capilla chose El Tequileño Blanco for its Batanga, and it is still the only tequila in that drink.
LOCATION

Tequila, Jalisco

Tequila is the town that gave the spirit its name, set at about 1,180 meters in the valley below the Tequila volcano, some 60 km northwest of Guadalajara. Blue agave covers the volcanic soils between the volcano and the canyon of the Río Grande de Santiago, a landscape UNESCO named a World Heritage Site in 2006. Large-scale agave distilling began here around 1600, and several of the oldest working distilleries in Mexico still operate in town. Tequila was named a Pueblo Mágico in 2003.
