El Tequileño Mujeres Single Barrel Select is a special collaboration between Lauren Castaño (@loveintequila) and Gina Castillo (@agave_gina), created to celebrate and uplift women in the tequila industry while giving back to the communities that make tequila possible in a place deeply meaningful to them both. 

This release supports the Gente Buena Foundation, whose name means “Good People,” and whose work is rooted in San Pedro de los Landeros, a small agave growing town in Jalisco. The foundation believes that the people and communities behind tequila deserve to share in its success.

Carefully aged for nearly three years in American oak barrels, this exceptional añejo reveals layered notes of ripe mango, stone fruit, ginger, allspice, and toasted oak. Delicate savory undertones add complexity, while warm baking spices, soft cinnamon, and lingering ginger create a rich, elegant finish.

More than just a barrel selection, this project was created with purpose. Proceeds from this release go directly to Gente Buena’s work in San Pedro de los Landeros, including its developing community health clinic initiative. The entire Valley of Tequila lacks a major hospital or comprehensive healthcare facility, forcing families in San Pedro de los Landeros and surrounding communities to travel long distances for even basic medical care.

In January 2026, Gente Buena began collaborating with the University of Guadalajara’s CUValles campus to develop a pilot community health clinic in San Pedro de los Landeros. The initiative combines mobile clinic services and community health outreach with an interdisciplinary team across nursing, nutrition, medicine, gerontology, and public health psychology. Designed to be replicable across the region, this model represents a meaningful step toward bringing accessible, community based healthcare to the people of Tequila Valley.

Through this barrel, every bottle helps connect tequila lovers directly to community impact by supporting healthcare access, women’s empowerment, clean water, and continued development in the agave growing communities essential to tequila’s story.
